Women for Human Rights, in collaboration with HomeNet South Asia, successfully organized a stakeholder consultation program in Chandragiri Municipality, in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 13th February 2026 to address the pressing issue of violence against women home-based workers (HBWs) and highlight the crucial role of local stakeholders in preventing gender-based violence (GBV).
The program brought together the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Ward Chairs, Police representatives, Judicial Committee members, and other key stakeholders. Their active participation and commitment marked a powerful step toward collective action.
Stakeholders pledged to support HBWs and their groups in preventing GBV and to provide assistance whenever needed—ensuring that women HBWs are not alone in their fight for safety, dignity, and justice.
Together, we move forward in building a community where women’s work and lives are respected, valued, and protected.
