As the International Labour Conference debates a new Convention on decent work in the platform economy, Kenyan platform workers representing drivers, content moderators, data labelers, home-based workers, and other platform workers, have united to ensure workers are not left behind in the future of work.
HomeNet Kenya hosts HomeNet International's inaugural Strategic Planning Meeting, paving the way for HNI's 4-year plan and focusing on HNI's global advocacy campaign for Home-Based Workers' rights and key programs like the Access to Markets Programme, highlighting their significance in advancing the welfare of HBWs worldwide.
This is the first time that HNI delegates meet in person to discuss their priority areas of work, showcase their products in a vibrant HBWs Bazaar, elect a new governing body and deepen the solidarity and unity that were built by HNI during the pandemic’s online activities.
February 24th –HomeNet International (HNI) celebrated its official launch and first virtual Congress, marking the end of a two-year process in which HBW organizations worked together to lay the foundations for the global network.
