In a strategic effort to enhance market access for artisanal home-based workers, the national networks UWAMINTA in Tanzania and HomeNet Kenya have conducted comprehensive research on trade fairs and exhibitions. The research, both local and regional within East and Central Africa, play a vital role in providing artisans with opportunities to showcase and sell their products, thereby strengthening the solidarity economy and supporting livelihood development.

Their research highlights key platforms such as national and regional exhibitions, shopping mall-based events, and consignment partnership arrangements. Additionally, they emphasize the importance of government-led initiatives and cross-border trade programs that facilitate wider market reach for artisanal groups.

By identifying these opportunities, UWAMINTA and HomeNet Kenya aim to empower home-based workers to access new markets, increase sales, and build sustainable economic networks across the region.
