On March 7, 2026, the Home-Based Embroidery Workers’ Union of El Salvador (SITRABORDO) organized a forum with 125 women embroiderers affiliated with the union. The aim of the activity was “to raise awareness and inform women organized in SITRABORDO about the most relevant aspects to consider within the human rights framework for decent work.”

The keynote speaker was sister Marta Zaldaña, General Secretary of the Federation of Independent Associations and Trade Unions of El Salvador.

During the forum, important topics related to human rights, their evolution, and characteristics were addressed. Based on these, a more in-depth analysis was carried out on economic, social, and cultural rights, leading to a collective construction of the concept of decent work aimed at improving the conditions of women home-based embroiderers.
