HomeNet International / Membership Committee

The HNI Membership Committee is committed to fostering a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members across all regions to ensure that HNI has a strong, active, and supportive membership base. It champions active affiliate participation in the organization’s governance and decision-making processes for sustainability and growth in the organization. The committee is also tasked with developing and implementing strategies to maintain continuous member engagement and satisfaction.

What We Do

Actively identify and attract home-based worker organizations (including federations, networks, alliances, trade unions, cooperatives, associations, and self-help groups) that align with HomeNet International's mission and values.
Guide Interested organizations through the membership application process.
Review and verify membership applications according to HNI’s constitution and membership criteria and make recommendations on admission to the HNI Executive Committee.

In collaboration with the Secretariat, maintain accurate and current membership records, including contact information, membership categories, and payment status, to support effective communication and outreach.
Periodically review HNI’s membership criteria and recommendation updates to ensure inclusivity, transparency and accountability.
Mediate, review and provide recommendations on membership disputes for suspension or termination according to the HNI constitution to the HNI Executive Committee.

Committee Structure

The Committee consists of a single representative from each HNI region, who may be from either the Executive Committee or an HNI member organization. The Interim Coordinator chairs the committee
Members are nominated from regions and approved by the HNI Executive Committee
Membership Committee reports to the Executive Committee
