The Gender Committee focuses on addressing discrimination, gender-based violence, and other inequities affecting women, children, and adolescents, with a primary focus on women home-based workers, who make up the majority of HNI members and the home-based workforce worldwide. Recognizing that challenges can be compounded by gender, religion, class, origin, age, or migration status, the Committee reviews HNI’s plans and programs, conducts feasibility research studies, develops internal policies, educational tools, and campaigns to raise awareness and drive change.
The Committee includes at least one representative from each HNI region, drawn from either the Executive Committee or member organizations. It operates through two commissions:
